When the Planet Goes Pop

After researching Global Warming I felt inspired to create an artwork that would make a statement both aesthetically and environmentally. This work reuses and combines three main elements – wood, plastic and metal.

At a distance, the piece is designed to draw you closer, to POP and play on vision. A little closer and the repetitive patterns evoke a sense of motion, a sense of time. Closer still, the random numbers echo chaos while the red hand quietly perches on the number seven. It is a reminder that SEVEN BILLION people inhabit this earth and consume at a rate that is simply not sustainable!

The rim of the artwork is lined with domino tiles to highlight the fact that the world population figure directly relates to the cause and effect of Global Warming
